Drzwi do Lasu ( A Door to the Woods ) – is a Polish idiom, describing something absurd, something that has no reason to exist. We come up with our doors to the woods when our backs are against the wall, in situations that require desperate actions. We do crazy, irrational things. And they help us overcome worst adversities.

This is what our three protagonists are up against – they fight for survival in three oppressive regimes that tore apart Europe in the 20th century: Fascism, Stalinism, and Communism.

They are not heroic figures – they are ordinary young people - two guys and a girl – who find themselves – pushed by history and personal circumstances – in situations that seem to have no solution.

And yet – they find the strength to not only overcome the obstacles, but to come out the other end - stronger, wiser, and, most importantly, alive.

We follow the three timelines – weaving in and out throughout the story – and connecting at crucial points, each validating the existence of our own, private door to the woods.
